The Circle Paintings

Circles! This is definitely new territory for me. I’m still dealing with the same themes as the other paintings, but the form has changed. The circle has a rich ornamental history – from medieval manuscripts to stained glass windows and complex Celtic patterns. I will be posting new work as fast as I can make it!

The William Blake Series

My name is Robin Venable, and this is my first post on WordPress!

This is a series of works in which I was studying a lot of William Blake, and using a more muted color scheme. Most of the works are quite small because I wanted to make the viewer look closely and be intimate with each piece. If you click on the thumbnails, a larger version will open up.
